Presentation: Using Perl for large financial applications, Henrik Sandell

The core of the fund based life-insurance system for the Swedish popoulation is written in PERL. Henrik Sandell worked together with Henrik P Jonssion as chief designers and devlopers for the system. The system currently handles funds worth around EUR 7 billion and contain around 5 million Individual accounts. Originally this system was built as a temporary replacement for a delayed EUR 15 000 000 project. After four month the PERL system proved to be in better shape And the original system was scrapped. The presentation will describe how the system was built and why PERL was chosen for the development.
