The Nordic Perl Workshop 2004 Abstract
Keeping your DNS sane with perl. (Anton Berezin)
30 minutes, Introductory, in English
Keeping your BIND zone files correct and parseable is a complicated task
if you have many. When a DNS administration system, whether homegrown
or commercial, does not do all required checks, it quickly becomes a
nightmare. This talk is about practical quick-n-dirty methods for
keeping your BIND zones in check, applying arbitrary zone contents
policy limits, requesting weird statistics about hosted zones your
marketing department wants yesterday, and making infamous "CNAME and
other data" never to be seen again.
